STR designed additions and renovations to this existing PK-8 school. The project comprises a 27,400-sf addition to the building and extensive renovations to the existing early learning center. Other design features include sensory rooms and gross motor skill areas, a gymnasium addition, an Arts/STEM wing addition, a new front entry with learning stair, and a renovated learning commons.
OVER 50 YEARS OF ENHANCING NOW ENVISIONING FUTURES
The addition and renovations officially opened in August 2024. STR principals and project managers join the Niles ESD 71 administration and school board to celebrate the official ribbon cutting.
A new playground for the early childhood students was also added just outside of the renovated early learning spaces.
A learning stair leads up to the new STEM classrooms, providing students with an exciting new gathering space.
The gymnasium addition includes a stage with theatrical lighting and acoustics, allowing the space to be used for both athletic events and performances.
