STR Principal Jennifer Costanzo is leading a district study that will examine how some of the schools are being used and the potential for transforming the district's four junior high schools into middle schools.

STR is ranked the 32nd top K-12 architecture firm in the United States by Building Design + Construction in its 2019 Giants 300 Report.

STR is ranked 90th by ENR Midwest in its annual Top Design Firms issue, which ranks the largest U.S.-based design firms, both publicly and privately held, based on design-specific revenue.

STR designed the 25,000-sf addition to include a mezzanine with ticket booth, black box, dressing rooms, and a state-of-the-art auditorium with seating for more than 630 people.

STR received the 2018 Alan F. Bombick Award for Excellence in Design for the new, 20,270-sf addition.

With the new, STR-designed natatorium opening next year at Libertyville High School, CHSD 128 officials are proposing the conversion of the existing pool and locker area into a dance studio, wrestling gym, and other spaces for athletic programs.

School Board Members approved plans to design new classroom additions at Longfellow and Lincoln elementary schools.

Robert J. Richardson Middle School receives top honors in the K-12 Education category from the 2018 awards program, which recognizes outstanding design projects that incorporate brick.

In early June, the board approved a list of summer maintenance projects, including secure entry renovations, roofing repairs, and flood damage repairs. STR also is currently conducting a district-wide analysis of the athletic facilities.

STR Principal Jennifer Costanzo accepted the award for Best New Elementary School at the April 21st ceremony hosted by the Masonry Advisory Council.
